Discover the Treasures in Burlington, WI

Burlington is located in Southeastern Wisconsin, 12 minutes away from Lake Geneva, 40 minutes from downtown Milwaukee, 75 minutes from Madison, and 90 minutes from downtown Chicago. Come stay and play in our wonderful city called “Chocolate City USA”!

Nature abounds with the largest prairie land park in Wisconsin is The Bong Nature Center, The White River Bike Trail, and Brown's Lake park and beach facilities. Be a part of nature in our area. If nature is not what you're seeking come for some other unique wonders.

Those summer days and evenings can be special. Chocolate Festival is held every Memorial Day Weekend featuring a chocolate bake off, rides, music, concessions, fireworks, and of course CHOCOLATE! On Friday evenings there is music in the park from mid June through the end of July. Alpine Valley and Country Thunder offer professional music acts during the warm months and are moments away from our city limits. Looking for uniqueness within walking distance gets you more pleasures: the unique Top Museum, The WIFI SCIFI Cafe with its annual conference, Chocolate City's Chocolate Museum, and some great locally made custard. You may have heard about the Burlington Liar's Club. Founded on a lie, two newspaper men in the 30's began collection entries each year and chose the best to be among a select few fibs/lies worthy of a plaque adorning the outside of businesses in the downtown area. Thursday afternoon and evening [4 PM til 8 PM]brings our Farmer's Market featuring local produce and seasonal crafts. Our own water ski troupe entertains on Saturday evenings all summer, try a leisurely canoe trip down the Fox River, or hone your golf skills at one of the fine area courses.

Winter brings its own treasures. There's downhill skiing at Alpine Valley, cross country skiing at the Bong Nature Center, sledding at our local hill, and ice fishing Brrrrr!

Just beyond our city limits you'll definitely want to take in all that Lake Geneva has to offer. The tour boat rides are by far the highlight of your Lake Geneva visit. Other unique finds in the Lake Geneva area would be Yerkes Observatory, and boat rentals.

Here are some insider finds visitors to Burlington won't want to miss: BJ Wentker's restaurants, Adrians Custard, Chocolate Expressions, AEpplel Treow Winery, Brighton Woods Orchard and the historic Hillcrest Inn Bed and Breakfast.

Burlington Wisconsin has a great location, both winter and summer activities, and uniqueness to make your next get-away a cut above the rest. See you soon!
