Getting from “Point A” to “B&B” Summer here in Wisconsin started out with a real bang, with waves of storms leaving some travelers left to wonder which direction to turn, literally and figuratively. We’re pleased to report that nearly every road in the state is now free and clear. Just a handful of byways remain closed as the Department of Transportation works to repair them. To ease your mind, we offer two suggestions: Click here for the DOT interactive map or call your friendly innkeeper for suggestions on the best route to take. All our member inns are open. Which leads us to a point about our B&B owners. They really are an uncommonly friendly bunch, always happy to point you in the direction of hiking and biking trails, local cuisine and winery tours, artful favorites and historic sites, giving honest recommendations based on what they love best about their communities. And you’ll be pleased to know that in order to belong to our group they all had to pass our Inspection Standards, and not everyone makes the cut. There’s a lot of summer left to be had, so get out and explore our inns and take in the adventures that go along with them. It might be a Victorian mansion one weekend, a contemporary cottage the next, and a restored Arts and Crafts masterpiece the next. Whatever your tastes, we’ll make certain it’s a vacation from conformity. And isn’t that a blissful way to travel through life! |
