Just Follow Your Inner Voice

So, you’ve finally decided to heed that inner voice that has been telling you to do what you really want - and that’s run your own B&B. Welcome to a world of hospitality, creativity and entrepreneurship.

Getting started need not be a daunting task. We’ve been at it for more than 20 years, helping aspiring innkeepers fulfill their career dreams. The essential information you need is catalogued in this section, from the Future Innkeeper Seminar, Aspiring Innkeeper Start Up Package, to the Inns for Sale listing (and note that experienced innkeepers often will mentor the purchaser of the inn).  All designed to separate facts from the fallacies and fantasies surrounding life as an innkeeper.

Remember, our mission is to help you succeed, because every time a new innkeeper opens a great Wisconsin B&B, there’s an equally great “halo effect” for all members of our association.

The Mission of the Wisconsin Bed & Breakfast Association
To enhance the success of all members by promoting the bed & breakfast experience, by promoting quality standards, by encouraging networking and educational opportunities, and by providing a voice for innkeepers and the industry.

Wisconsin B&Bs for Business Travelers 01/31/2012 A Wisconsin B&B may not be the first type of lodging that comes to mind when planning a business trip, but give it a try.  Lots of inns offer corporate rates and even have meeting rooms right on premise.  Other reasons to stay at a B&B for business?  It’s quiet,...

Warm Up with Soup (and Grilled Cheese) 01/25/2012 Some might call it a classic combination – tomato soup and grilled cheese.  Of course, with it being Wisconsin, we always suggest making the sandwich using an artisan cheese.  Download the brochure of artisan cheese varieties and think about pairing two or three cheeses.  Then whip up this recipe for...
