52 Stafford, An Irish Guest House
52 Stafford, An Irish Guest House52 Stafford, An Irish Guest House, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The building is Queen Anne in style and was constructed in 1892 by 42-year-old Plymouth businessman, Henry Laack. For more than 100 years, The inn has been in continual use, a record few other Wisconsin inns can boast. The current innkeeper purchased the inn in 1978 and in 1987, restored the structure to its original appearance. Reconstruction included restoring the front entrance portico and duplicating all the elaborate interior moldings, doors, and cabintry. The carpet in the common areas was imported from England. Solid cherry millwork enhances the decor in the lobby and pub. To help achieve an Irish theme to the historic building, the four green fields of Ireland are represented in the stained glass windows in the pub. Our dinner menu also features Irish and American cuisine nightly. Pub platters and sandwiches are also available. We feature live Irish music on a weekly basis all year long. The inn features 19 guest rooms, all with one four poster queen size bed, highboys, cable TV, wireless internet, air conditioning and coffee makers. 15 of our 19 guest rooms feature whirlpool baths. Please see us at our web site for a virtual tour of our inn. www.irishinnsandtours.com The web site will also include our restaurant menu and any room specials we may be offering. | |||||||||||||||
