Cable Nature Lodge
Cable Nature LodgeAn Inn For Outdoor Adventurers…Who Still Prefer to Eat & Sleep in Style!Welcome to Cable Nature Lodge - a distinctive country inn and retreat center in northwest Wisconsin featuring rustic elegance and peaceful seclusion in a smoke-free, adult-oriented environment. The lodge is perched on a spruce covered hill overlooking forest and wetlands teaming with birds and other wildlife. The premier location on 22 acres in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest offers easy access to the many outdoor recreational opportunities available to you in this beautiful corner of Wisconsin. At the same time terrific dining, shops, art galleries, and other civilized pleasures are located just minutes away. Rough sawn cedar and knotty pine paneling distinguish the exquisitely appointed guest rooms and common areas at Cable Nature Lodge, along with vaulted ceilings, tile and wood laminate floors, and field stone fireplaces. All seven guest rooms are located on the upper level of the lodge with large windows overlooking the surrounding forest. All feature a luxurious king or queen bed topped by a cozy duvet, private bath with shower, satellite TV, free wireless Internet, A/C and ceiling fan, sitting table and chairs, gourmet coffeemaker, fridge, and microwave. The Rookery Pub & Café at Cable Nature Lodge features bold imaginative cuisine served in a relaxing smoke-free atmosphere. From specialty salads to bison steak, handmade pasta, vegetarian and vegan entrees and a Friday night Lake Superior fish boil, the Rookery Pub offers an ever-changing seasonal menu using fresh locally grown ingredients to the fullest extent possible. Dedicated to the principles of cultural heritage and ecological tourism, Cable Nature Lodge is proud to be among the first businesses in the state to earn Travel Green Wisconsin certification. This distinction is awarded to tourism businesses that demonstrate a commitment to reduce their environmental impact and take actions towards environmental, social, and economic sustainability. Cable Nature Lodge was specifically recognized for using non-toxic biodegradable laundry detergents and cleaning products, using refillable soap and shampoo dispensers rather than throwaway plastic bottles, recycling, and offering guests tour information and field guides on native plants and wildlife. From the lodge a short stroll will bring you to the peaceful shores of North Twin Lake, a natural lake in the national forest untouched by jet skis and speed boats. Just a mile down the road you’ll find the Rock Lake hiking and ski trail, along with a trailhead for the Midwest’s renowned CAMBA off-road bike trail system. Less than two miles in the other direction lies a lovely little park at the headwaters of the Namakagon River, one of the first federally designated Wild and Scenic Rivers in the country, and well known for great fishing and canoeing. Hiking, biking, canoeing, golfing, fishing, horseback riding, skiing, snowshoeing — name your favorite silent sport and you’ll likely find it within a short walk or drive of Cable Nature Lodge. We look forward to welcoming you soon! | |||||||||||||||||||
