Canyon Road Inn

Beautifully decorated themed guestsuites (Northwoods, Homestead, Garden, Lakes and Railroad) - all reflect the history of the home and area. Guests enjoy cozy fireplaces or summer air-conditioning, double whirlpools, comfy king-beds, private baths, writing tables, soft robes, lakeside decks or views from a seat on a private patio. Antiques and family heirlooms lend a friendly, warm welcoming feeling.

High Speed Internet access is available throughout the building as is cell-phone service.

Delicious full breakfasts are served in the dining room. Let us know if you need a special diet or if you'd rather sleep in...however, many say that breakfast is their favorite part of a stay at Canyon Road Inn! Check out the recipes on the web site, plus we also have cookbooks for sale in the Gift Shop.

The snack area has a full-size refrigerator, microwave, ice maker and comes stocked with glasses, ice buckets, coffee, herbal teas and cocoa for your enjoyment. There is also bottled water and soda for your convenience.

Canyon Road Inn was a Nat'l Award Winner in Inn Traveler magazine for 4 yrs. Named the #1 Inn for All Seasons and also received awards for Best Customer Service and Best for Rest & Relaxation. Just ask our many, many repeat guests!

With features of a small resort and secluded getaway in a natural setting, Canyon Road Inn has something for most everyone. Keep your eyes open for songbirds, wildlife or simply enjoy the quiet comfort with that special someone! It's just a short walk to the cedar gazebo where you can sit on a patio on "sunset point". Have you ever tried snow shoeing? We have complimentary pairs for your use - just ask. Spring, Summer and Fall you can explore this quiet lake in complimentary canoes or paddle boat. Bring your fishing equipment as this is a fun lake to fish too.

For other things to do here in North Western Wisconsin, the St. Croix Casino provides complimentary shuttle service to guests and has weekend entertainment. Several antique shops, woodworking shops, quilting, gift shops and museums are nearby. It's less than half an hour to Inter-State Park at St. Croix Falls to the west and to the Pioneer Village near Cameron to the east. Ask us about local tours of Chateau St. Croix Winery, the Viking Brewery, Leinenkugels Brewery, local cheese factories or where to find the best supper club with a sunset lakeside view (There are 2 favorites and we have their menus for you to review). If you are interested in bowling, roller skating, horseback riding or the theater check with us. For movies you will find - in-door multi-plex and the old-fashioned outdoor drive-in. Live plays with community theater are enjoyed in 4 nearby towns. The Festival Theatre in St. Croix Falls has professional actors & a year round concert series spanning the spectrum of genres in an old Vaudeville House that is on the National Register of Historic Places. It's all available nearby. Those who can stay a little longer enjoy the National Fishing Hall of Fame at Hayward, a paddleboat trip or canoeing on the St. Croix, exploring other scenic river ways or even The Mall of America in Minneapolis, which is just a nice day trip.

Check out our website page of Things To Do and the Calendar of Events. You will also find information on biking the Wisconsin State trails or quiet Rustic Roads, hiking the Ice Age Trail or Wisconsin's Newest State Park or just taking a scenic drive here in Northwestern Wisconsin.

If you want to bring the family or get together with friends for a couple days, we have hosted family reunions, mini-class reunions, golfers getaways and more, where your group takes all 5 guestrooms. The spacious commons area works great for groups. In the summer guests have complimentary use of canoes, paddle boat and rowboat for fishing or just enjoying this scenic lake. Dry firewood is available for your evening campfire (bring your own guitar!). We have a variety of menus from area cafes and restaurants to choose from during your stay and are glad to share recommendations, comments from others and directions.

If you are concerned about accessibility issues, Canyon Road Inn may be able to accommodate you since the Railroad and Lily Pad Rooms are on the ground level with 36 inch doors on the bathrooms and high-rise toilets. The shower in the Railroad Rm is more accessible with a curtain and hand held wand. There is also an electric chair lift here to easily transport you to the main dining room upstairs. We are able to assist people with electric wheelchairs.

This contemporary bed and breakfast in the woods and on the lake in Northwestern Wisconsin is now certified by Travel Green Wisconsin. We have an organic garden & fruit trees here in the yard, which enhance our sumptuous breakfasts. Thank you for walking gently upon the earth!
