Ferg Haus Inn of Ferg's Bavarian Village
Great Aunt Amelia and Great Uncle August Ferg immigrated from Germany in the late 1800s and moved here in 1898. In 1912 they built this farm house, which is now the inn on our farm, which is now a Bavarian Village. The inn, with its fat feather pillows, FEATHER BEDS, puffy down comforters and lace-covered windows, overlooks the village. You will find murals depicting life in Bavaria, flower-filled balconies, and window boxes, lush landscaped gardens, and picturesque ponds. A Bavarian gift shop(former machine shed and hog barn) featuring European imports, an Island Garten Gazebo, site of many garden weddings, a Wedding Chapel(former horse barn), now reminiscent of the St. Nickolaus Church of Oberndorf, Austria, where Silent Night was first sung to music, and Edelweiss Biergarten (a former garage) featuring German-style food and beer (open to the public), are included in the little Alpine Bavarian village. Join us for our annual Oktoberfest to be held August 14, 2010 and August 13, 2011. Those who visit during the winter Christmas season will be impressed with the village's inspirational Christmas decorations and displays. Ferg's Bavarian Village(Bayrischer Dorf) welcomes visitors and guests throughout the year. Hope to see you sometime.
