Jay Lee Inn

Overview of the Jay Lee Inn

This gorgeous Bed and Breakfast lies on 1 acre of lake view Elkhart Lake Wisconsin property.  Shopping, food, and local attractions are within walking distance.  The home was built in 1902, but completely renovated and restored in 2007.  All plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems have been updated.  The Jay Lee Inn offers a total of seven spacious guest rooms.  Five of the rooms are located on the second floor and offer private baths.  The two rooms located on the third floor have a shared bath.  A large dinning room and sitting room with piano are available for guests to enjoy during their stay.  All guests are treated to bath robes, extra pillows, and a variety of toiletries.  Each morning a hot gourmet breakfast is served.  The Jay Lee Inn is happy to accommodate any of your special needs.

History of the Jay Lee Inn

This Victorian Federal home was built in 1902 by William and Carolyn Krueger.  It sits along the original historic path of the Elkhart Lake race track.  The property has always been used as a boarding house, inn, or additional guest rooms for the resorts and hotels in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.  The home has been renovated to reveal its original charm , therefore, the new owners thought it appropriate to re-name the home "Jay Lee Inn", a name the home was given by Jacob and Leitha Stein, when it was affiliated with Pine Point Resort.

The Innkeepers
Leo and Monica Lettow purchased the property in December of 2006.  Throughout 2007 they spent many long hours restoring the property.  Much of the restoration and all of the decoration was done by Monica and Leo,  with a "little" help from their family and friends.  In December of 2007, they opened the Jay Lee Inn Bed and Breakfast.  Monica and Leo have been married for 28 years.  Prior to opening the Bed and Breakfast, they lived on a farm near Random lake Wisconsin, where they raised three children together.  Leo and Monica love to travel, entertain, and get involved in local activities.

Newly Built B&Bs Do Exist in Wisconsin 02/02/2012 There’s a long-standing myth the B&B industry can’t seem to shake and it’s that all inns are Victorian with antiques and doilies everywhere.  It’s just not so.  Styles of architecture among B&Bs in Wisconsin run from historic mansions to lakeside cabins to ultra-contemporary new builds.  Let’s focus on that last...

Wisconsin B&Bs for Business Travelers 01/31/2012 A Wisconsin B&B may not be the first type of lodging that comes to mind when planning a business trip, but give it a try.  Lots of inns offer corporate rates and even have meeting rooms right on premise.  Other reasons to stay at a B&B for business?  It’s quiet,...

Warm Up with Soup (and Grilled Cheese) 01/25/2012 Some might call it a classic combination – tomato soup and grilled cheese.  Of course, with it being Wisconsin, we always suggest making the sandwich using an artisan cheese.  Download the brochure of artisan cheese varieties and think about pairing two or three cheeses.  Then whip up this recipe for...
