Lazy Cloud Bed and Breakfast
Imagine your own secret hideaway - the fireplace is blazing, the double whirlpool is covered with bubbles, the wine is chilling, the room is bathed in soft, flickering candlelight, the sound of your favorite music is playing in the background, and the one you love has joined you for a magical, enchanted evening. We provide the place and the romantic atmosphere - you provide the love, laughter and celebration of your relationship.
Relax at the Lazy Cloud Bed & Breakfast which is located in the beautiful Lake Geneva, Wisconsin area. All of our accommodations are done in our signature romantic style: each room has a luxurious double whirlpool tub and a blazing fireplace. Our suites are decorated in an individual theme with a daybed, couch or loveseat for lounging, a small dining area with dorm size refrigerator and microwave, raspberry meltaway chocolates, fluffy bathrobes, bubble bath, and the Enchanted Evening Game. You will also receive a complimentary bottle of wine, microwave popcorn and flavored hot chocolate and cappuccino. A dozen tea light candles are replenished daily and a radio with cassette and CD player are provided so that you may enjoy your favorite music.
At the B & B, all suites have a queen sized bed. Our suites do not have a TV, VCR or telephones, so your stay with us is guaranteed to be quiet and relaxing! However, a TV and telephone for the guest�s use are found in our lodge which is open to you at all times! Our breakfast is an expanded continental consisting of our family's recipe for delicious homemade sticky pecan rolls, a huge variety of fresh fruit, my homemade granola, other commercial cereals, Danish kringle, bagels and cream cheese, fresh apple crisp and waffles on the weekends, string cheese, and hard-boiled eggs. The morning beverages consist of coffee, a variety of teas, milk and a host of fruit and vegetable juices!
The Lazy Cloud Lodge has a wonderful history! Built upon their 88 acre estate by the Uihlein Family of Schlitz Brewery fame as a polo lodge, the early 1920's structure was designed with Cape Cod and Nantucket in mind! As you approach the building from North Lakeshore Drive, it has the appearance of a small, brown shingled, cape cod cottage. Not so! You are approaching the side of the massive retreat! The lodge was built to face the polo grounds, which is now a beautiful English garden consisting of gorgeous plantings and shrubs, quaint gazebos and patios, lovely fountains and trickling springs, garden statuary, double hammocks and sitting areas, with life size checker and chess boards! Small weddings and vow renewals are a popular venue at this location!
Some of the suites were originally small apartments or rooms used for guests and staff, Other suites were stables for the horses, while other suites were used for grain storage. Today's Hayloft Suite was actually the Uihlein's hayloft!! The suite's wide planked, pine floor is original to the building.
In the early 1950�s a handsome young actor doing summer stock at the Belfry Theatre took care of our property for his room and keep. Today we have a suite named in his honor: The Paul Newman Suite!
At almost the same time another young man, much less social than Newman, was working on a transcript for his novel. When completed, JD Salinger named the manuscript Catcher in the Rye! His small apartment is now known to us as the Log Cabin Suite.

Then, relax with two one-hour in-suite massages and enjoy the romance of your fireplace! Enjoy a delectable Enchanted Evening Picnic Basket of ham & turkey (or a full rack of ribs for an additional $10). For starters, you'll feast upon chilled shrimp cocktail with our special sauce accompanied by whole wheat crackers and three delicious cheese spreads. Three blocks of Swiss, cheddar, and chocolate cheeses give added gusto to your appetite and may be enjoyed before or after your entree. Our Deposit & Cancellation Policy:
A deposit equal to the first nights charge is required to confirm your reservation. A deposit guarantees the entire period reserved and will be credited to the last night reserved. With being a small inn, we never have people lining up at 6 o'clock to take our rooms and we NEVER, EVER overbook like the bigger hotels. We feel it's a two-part contract. We absolutely, positively promise we won't give your room away...We expect you to promise to honor your financial commitment.
Refunds:
A refund will be given if you cancel more than seven days before your arrival--less a $20 service charge. If you would like to reschedule (as long as it is more than 7 days in advance of arrival) we can apply the whole deposit towards another stay. You are responsible for any part of your reservation that is not re-rented if you cancel less than seven days before your check-in date. If you cancel less than 7 days in advance of your arrival date and we are able to re-rent your reservation, you will receive a Gift Certificate for the amount of your deposit--less a $20 service charge. We regret that we cannot make exceptions for personal emergencies as a cause for cancellation.
