Pleasant View B&BHello Friends,We’re here! We’ve just checked in to the Pleasant View B&B, Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. This lake home is nestled in the woods on 6300 acre Lake Wissota. Choosing our room was a real treat! I wanted to stay in the Northwoods Room. Its two rooms are cabin-like with a woodburning fireplace, lakeside access, and a relaxing whirlpool bath I couldn’t wait to try out. However, “you-know-who” wanted to stay in the Secret Garden Room. It has a double whirlpool bath framed with pillars of lattice and a cozy fireplace. Oh…did I mention it even has its own "Secret Garden!?!" Since we couldn’t agree on where we were going to sleep, we decided to check out Pleasant View’s remaining rooms. First we went to their Wind & Waves Room. The view of the lake was beautiful. The room has a great nautical theme. Not only is there a relaxing whirlpool bath tucked in the corner, it also has direct access to the deck overlooking the lake. H-m-m-m, it was very tempting, I must admit. Next was Hidden Harbor Room. It has a king-sized bed, sitting area with sofa and fireplace set in an antique mantle. Imagine a Cape Cod seaside cottage with white beadboard and yellow walls, seagulls, sailboats and its own lakeside patio. We finally chose the Cozy Corner Room, accessorized with antiques. Along with the luxurious double whirlpool and adjoining sitting room with fireplace, we have our own corner of the deck looking out over the lake. This is a great place! You must come and stay here sometime – soon! That’s all for now. While my better half is enjoying a book in the Atrium, I’ll sit on the dock and watch the fish jump, or maybe see an eagle fly overhead. This is the life! Wish you were here! P.S. DINNER & CRUISE: board a pontoon with your captain for a delightful, relaxing hour and a half 'champagne' cruise on Lake Wissota, followed by find dining at High Shores Supper Club, a lakeshore restaurant... LOOPY'S (on the Chippewa River): canoes, innertubes, shuttle service... COOK RUTLEDGE MANSION TOURS: a beautiful example of High Victorian Italianate architecture... ROSE & LILY GARDEN: nature's beauty of 500 rose bushes & many lily varieties... LEINENKUGEL BREWERY, LEINIE LODGE TOUR CENTER, GIFT SHOP & MUSEUM: experience how Leinenkugel's award-winning beers are handcrafted in an old-world Germanic brewery.. MUSEUM OF INDUSTRY & TECHNOLOGY: history of manufacturing and processing from the 1840's through today, including the beginning of Cray supercomputers... CABIN RIDGE RIDES: sleigh & stagecoach rides...
