at the Water's Edge

Located on the scenic Lake Michigan shoreline, just a short drive to Door County, 'at the Waters Edge' is the perfect bed and breakfast to enjoy a romantic get-a-way, anniversary or just a 'break from it all'.   All of our generously sized THEMED rooms feature PRIVATE entrances, PRIVATE baths and ON-THE-LAKE views.  Come check out our new 1500 sq ft deck overlooking the lake.  Consider staying in the 50's Hollywood Room, when Marilyn Monroe was at her best. Perhaps, Classical Music is more your taste.  Instrumental decor and soothing earth tones can make anyone sing.  Or, set sail for your own adventure in the Nautical room where lighthouses and sailboats drift.  Since your coming up north, why not stay in the Northwoods room.  Enjoy the wildlife ... 'decor'.  Maybe you would prefer the other side of the planet, try the Tropical Paradise room.  Pink flamingos, hibiscus flowers and tropical colors gives anyone a reason to enjoy a 5 o'clock fruity concoction.  Or for the more rebel side in you, stay in the Harley Davidson room.  Put yourself in low gear and enjoy the ride.  And of course, for all lovers everywhere, we have the Honeymoon room.  Adorned with love throughout every corner.  Spark an old romance or begin a new.      Then, wake in the morning to a serene sunrise off the lake and the smell of coffee, then end the day by drifting off to sleep listening to the sound of Lake Michigan waves gently crashing on our private natural pebble beach. It's all here and waiting for you..."at the Waters Edge".

Newly Built B&Bs Do Exist in Wisconsin 02/02/2012 There’s a long-standing myth the B&B industry can’t seem to shake and it’s that all inns are Victorian with antiques and doilies everywhere.  It’s just not so.  Styles of architecture among B&Bs in Wisconsin run from historic mansions to lakeside cabins to ultra-contemporary new builds.  Let’s focus on that last...

Wisconsin B&Bs for Business Travelers 01/31/2012 A Wisconsin B&B may not be the first type of lodging that comes to mind when planning a business trip, but give it a try.  Lots of inns offer corporate rates and even have meeting rooms right on premise.  Other reasons to stay at a B&B for business?  It’s quiet,...

Warm Up with Soup (and Grilled Cheese) 01/25/2012 Some might call it a classic combination – tomato soup and grilled cheese.  Of course, with it being Wisconsin, we always suggest making the sandwich using an artisan cheese.  Download the brochure of artisan cheese varieties and think about pairing two or three cheeses.  Then whip up this recipe for...
