Message to Stressed-Out Millenials: Stay at a B&B

Posted: Fri-Mar-2013

According to Stress in America, a study commissioned by the American Psychological Association, Millennials, also known as Gen Y (born between 1982 and 2004) are the most stressed demographic. Who knew! Now, couple that with the fact that an average of 9.2 vacation days were skipped last year, and we may be on to something. We’re chiming in with a recommendation to check into a Wisconsin B&B. It’s a getaway option that won’t break the bank (college loans, anyone) and could restore a sense of balance.  A good starting point might be an inn that’s off the beaten path, like the Crystal River Inn B&B in Waupaca or LaCrosse's Wilson Schoolhouse Inn, where tranquility and space to breathe come at no additional charge.  Nearly 30 inns in Wisconsin offer complimentary wine and cheese, so that’s another nice de-stressing idea. The rural setting on 10 acres of woods and hills is just a mile from the upper Mississippi River and only 8 minutes from historic downtown LaCrosse. At Wilson Schoolhouse Inn, the entire schoolhouse rental comfortably accommodates 2 to 8 adults.[/caption] [caption id="attachment_1066" align="alignright" width="291"] Nestled in the historic village of Rural (Waupaca) on the bank of the Crystal River is this 1853 farmstead. Innkeepers Deb & Robert serve food from their garden, harvest local wild fruit and make all their jellies and jams. Walk their labyrinth where they are restoring the prairie - grass in the summer and snowpacked in the winter.[/caption]
