A Trail That Appeals to Your Artistic Side

You likely know about our cheese trails and microbrew trails in Wisconsin.  Now, to feed your artistic side, check out the trail of art museums and galleries that snakes through the state, courtesy of the Wisconsin Arts Board.  Just log on to artsboard.wisconsin.gov and browse around.  The site also features a list of arts and crafts fairs throughout the year.  While we’re on the topic of art, consider a trek to the northern community of Bayfield for their 5th Annual “B&Be in the Arts” weekend, April 22-24. It’s a weekend devoted to learning artistic skills and enjoying great food in a charming location, right on Lake Superior (which by then may or may not still have a coating of ice!). Sponsored by Bayfield-area B&Bs, the event features two days of instruction in basketry, jewelry, photography, pottery, watercolor painting and weaving, with all classes led by professional artists.  The sponsoring inns offer a broad range of architectural styles, from historic to traditional to contemporary.
